Lesson 2 of 6 · 9 min
Authoritative sources
Attach the right files, require citations and mark what still needs checking.
Learnya reads Word, PDF, PowerPoint and Excel formats, and the files in your Drive. When you attach the authoritative documents, it relies on them rather than on its general knowledge. That is the difference between a plausible text and an accurate one.
- Rely only on the attached documents.
- For each figure, give the document and the page it comes from.
- Write “to be checked” when information is missing, rather than filling it in.
The third requirement is the most valuable. A language model readily fills a gap with a plausible value. By asking it to flag what is missing, you turn an invisible error into a visible question.
- Open three references at random and check the cited passage.
- Look for the “to be checked” notes and complete them yourself.
- Check the key figures against the original document.
