The words of AI, explained simply.
28 terms you will meet in Learnya and in the courses, each linked to the lesson that goes deeper.
- Agent
An assistant that does more than answer. It plans, uses tools, works through the steps and asks for your agreement before acting.
Go deeper: From an assistant that answers to an agent that acts- Approval
The moment when Learnya shows you what it is about to do, such as sending a message, adding to the Agenda or publishing a post, and waits for your agreement.
Go deeper: Understanding approvals- Assistant
An agent set up for a specific purpose, with its own instructions, sources, tools and guardrails. It can be shared with a team.
Go deeper: Writing an assistant’s instructions- Audit log
The record of what was done in the organisation, by whom and when. Administrators view and export it.
Go deeper: Using the audit log
- Challenger agent
A second agent tasked with rereading an answer and looking for its flaws. Useful before a decision or a publication.
Go deeper: Sources and the challenger agent- Connector
The link between Learnya and a service you already use, such as a mailbox, a calendar or a CRM. Each connector is activated with your permission.
Go deeper: Connect a mailbox and let Learnya prepare the replies- Context
Everything the agent knows to handle your request: your message, the attached documents, the history and your preferences. The more accurate it is, the more accurate the answer.
Go deeper: Goal and context- Context window
The amount of text a model can take into account at once. Beyond that, the text has to be split or summarised, which is why well-organised documents help.
Go deeper: Calculation and long documents
- Deployment modes
Learnya can be used online, locally on a workstation or on your organisation’s servers. The choice depends on your data and your constraints.
Go deeper: Choosing a deployment mode- Drive
The space where your documents, presentations and files live in Learnya, organised by project and ready to share.
Go deeper: Organising and finding your files in the Drive
- Guardrail
A rule that limits what an assistant can do, such as never sending without approval or never quoting client data.
Go deeper: Setting the guardrails
- Hallucination
A false answer stated with confidence, for example a source that does not exist. The defence is to ask for sources and check the key figures.
Go deeper: Hallucinations
- Instructions
The text that tells an assistant its role, what it must do, what it must never do and the expected format.
Go deeper: Writing an assistant’s instructions
- Language model
The engine that generates the text. It predicts the most likely continuation of a text from what it has learned, which explains both its strengths and its errors.
Go deeper: Predicting what comes next in a text
- OOXML
The open format of Word, Excel and PowerPoint files. Learnya’s Office suite opens and saves it, so your files move around without conversion.
Go deeper: Create a deck from a document
- Plan
The sequence of steps Learnya proposes before acting on a complex request. You can follow it, correct it or stop it at any time.
Go deeper: Following the plan and the tools
- Review deck
A set of question-and-answer cards that Learnya has you review at the right moment, thanks to spaced repetition.
Go deeper: Create a review deck and use “Today”- Role
A member’s level of rights in the organisation: administrator, member or read-only.
Go deeper: Members, seats and roles
- Scheduled task
A request that Learnya carries out on its own at a set time, such as a report every Monday. It can be paused or changed at any time.
Go deeper: Scheduling a task- SCORM
The standard format for e-learning modules. A lesson created in Learnya can be exported as SCORM for your training platform.
Go deeper: Build an e-learning lesson with a quiz and export it as SCORM- Skill
Reusable know-how that the agent draws on when the task calls for it, such as producing a deck or analysing a spreadsheet.
Go deeper: Choosing the tools and skills- Source
A document, a website or a folder that the agent consults to answer. An answer with sources can be checked, an answer without a source can only be taken on trust.
Go deeper: Providing knowledge and sources- Sovereignty
Keeping control over your data, where it is hosted and which laws apply to it. Learnya is designed and hosted in Switzerland.
Go deeper: Confidentiality and sovereignty- Spaced repetition
A method that brings each concept back just before you would forget it. Reviews become less frequent as your memory holds.
Go deeper: Create a review deck and use “Today”- SSO
Single sign-on. Your staff sign in to Learnya with their company account, and someone leaving is handled in one place.
Go deeper: SSO, passkeys and two-factor authentication
- Tool
An action the agent can carry out, such as searching the web, reading a file or creating an event. An administrator chooses which tools are allowed.
Go deeper: Skills, tools and restrictions- Transcription
Turning audio into text. Learnya transcribes meetings and dictation in six languages and produces minutes, a summary or tasks from them.
Go deeper: Transcribe a meeting and get the minutes
- Watch
A search that Learnya runs again at regular intervals on a topic, so that it only flags what is new, with its sources.
Go deeper: Setting up a watch
