Choosing a deployment mode

Learnya can be deployed in three ways, which are not mutually exclusive. The choice depends on the sensitivity of the data, the infrastructure you have and the connectivity of your sites. The user experience stays the same.

The Swiss cloud

This is the simplest mode. Users sign in at app.learnya.ai, from the web, the desktop app or their phone. Data and models are hosted in Switzerland. Nothing needs to be installed on the server side, and updates require no action on your part.

The desktop app working locally

The desktop app, for macOS, Windows and Linux, can work directly on the computer’s files. Files opened to Learnya stay on the machine and do not travel. This mode suits workstations that handle large local folders or documents that must not leave the device.

On-premises installation

Learnya can be installed on your organisation’s servers, including without an Internet connection. Models, data and processing then stay within your infrastructure. This mode meets the strictest requirements, those of a hospital, a public administration or an isolated site, in return for operation handled by your own teams.

• Can your IT team run servers and keep them up to date?
• Should you combine modes, for example the Swiss cloud for most departments and on-premises for just one?

3. For the Swiss cloud, prepare SSO and groups.
4. For the desktop app, roll it out to the workstations concerned with the list of folders Learnya can open.
