Lesson 3 of 9 · 9 min

Understanding approvals

Why Learnya asks for your go-ahead before acting, and how to respond.

ObjectiveBy the end of this lesson, you will be able to read an “Approval” block, choose the right scope of consent and find your decisions in the Activity screen.

Learnya works on its own as long as its actions have no consequences: reading, searching, drafting. The moment an action commits you, it stops and asks for your go-ahead. Sending an email, buying, publishing, deleting: none of this goes ahead without you.

What an approval request looks like

An “Approval” block appears in the conversation. It describes the exact action: the recipient and text of an email, the slot to book, the file to delete. You read, then you decide. If you are elsewhere, a notification alerts you on the web, the computer or the phone.

  • “Approve”: the action goes ahead, once only.
  • “Deny”: the action is cancelled and Learnya takes it into account from then on.
  • “This session”: the same action is accepted until the end of the session.
  • “Approve for this project”: the consent applies within this project, except for sensitive tools, which ask again in every session.
Try it in LearnyaPrepare a reply to the supplier’s email to move the delivery to 15 November. Show me the draft and wait for my go-ahead before sending it. Try in Learnya
  1. Read the whole “Approval” block, including the recipient and the attachments.
  2. If a detail is wrong, deny and state the correction in the conversation.
  3. If everything is right, click “Approve”.
  4. Open the “Activity” screen to find the history of your approvals.
The Activity screen, with what each task produced and the history of approvals.

Keeping consent cautious

A broad approval saves time on repetitive tasks. Keep it for actions you know well and whose effect is limited. For anything that leaves your organisation or cannot be undone, approve case by case. You remain responsible for what goes out in your name, and Learnya is designed to leave that decision to you.
