Lesson 8 of 8 · 9 min

Extending to other teams

Move from one pilot team to several, passing on what worked and stopping what does not help.

When a pilot team really works with AI, the temptation is to copy its usage everywhere. But the first case that worked in customer service will mean nothing to accounting. What gets passed on is the method, the rules and the people.

  • The method: the obstacles, choosing the first case, the kick-off session, the ritual.
  • The charter, which each team completes with its own sensitive cases.
  • The champions, who mentor a new team during its first month.
  • The requests and assistants that work across several jobs.

Review each use after three months. Those that save time and hold their quality get extended. Those that are useful but need a lot of review get adapted, often by tightening the instructions or the sources. Those that nobody uses any more get stopped, with no regrets: they taught the team something.

  1. Review the pilot team’s results together with that team.
  2. Present the review to the next teams with a champion from the pilot team.
  3. Let each new team choose its own first case.
  4. Assign a mentor for the first month, then step back.
